Machinist III – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Machinist III for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will produce high‑precision aerospace and defense components, applying CNC expertise to lathe and mill machines that directly support mission‑critical programs.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes with milling capabilities to achieve tight tolerances and complex geometries.
• Interpret detailed GD&T drawings, blueprints, and operation sheets to manufacture parts accurately.
• Perform in‑process inspections, adjust gauging equipment, and identify non‑conforming parts.
• Collaborate with minimal supervision to plan work, troubleshoot issues, and maintain cell productivity.
• Maintain documentation of setups, inspections, and any deviations for quality control.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) with proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 4 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably on lathe and mill machines.
• Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations and measurements.
• Ability to work independently on a 2nd‑shift schedule.
