Machinist I - 3rd shift

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Machinist I to work the 3rd shift in its Mobile, AL manufacturing facility. The role involves setting up and operating CNC production equipment and manual shop machines to produce aircraft components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC mills, CNC lathes, routers, lasers and manual milling machines.
• Program machines using CATIA or comparable software and write/read G‑code via CAM tools.
• Produce quality parts according to specifications and documentation.
• Create setup instructions and code programs for new parts entering the shop.
• Review CAD design blueprints to ensure accurate machining.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in a machine or fabrication shop.
• At least five years of experience in aerospace or a related, transferable field.
• Ability to work the 3rd‑shift schedule (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday‑Thursday) on‑site.

Required skills

• CNC machining (3‑axis and 5‑axis).
• Operation of CNC lathes, routers and laser equipment.
• Manual milling machine operation.
• CATIA or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
• G‑code programming and CAM software usage.
• Reading and interpreting CAD blueprints.
