Machinist I - 2nd/3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Machinist I for the 2nd/3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role supports the Military Aircraft Group, producing high‑precision components for programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25 and FLRAA.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines with milling capabilities to produce parts to tight tolerances and complex geometry.
• Inspect finished components, adjust gauging equipment, and identify non‑conforming parts.
• Interpret and follow detailed engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and operation sheets.
• Maintain accurate documentation of machining parameters and inspection results.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand written and computer instructions in English.
• At least one year of general machining experience or completion of a formal machining/CNC certification program.
• Willingness to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required for safety‑sensitive work.

Required skills

• Operation of CNC lathe with milling functions.
• Use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial bore gauges.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical work instructions.
