Machinist – CNC Lathe & 5-Axis Milling (2nd/3rd Shift)

About the role

Sandvik Coromant is seeking a results‑driven Machinist to join its manufacturing team on the 2nd and 3rd shifts in Mebane, NC. You will operate CNC lathe and 5‑axis milling equipment to produce high‑precision components that meet strict quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathe and/or 5‑axis milling machines.
• Perform in‑process inspections and adjust programs to ensure specifications are met.
• Document all changes, report corrections, and maintain production records.
• Collaborate with engineering on tooling selection, fixture design, and machining strategies.
• Utilize manufacturing reporting systems to track metrics and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; technical college or trade school credential preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of CNC milling experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
• Willingness to work overtime and adapt to schedule changes.
