Machine Operator (Powder)

About the role

Sandvik is seeking a detail‑oriented Machine Operator to run its powder production line for Ready‑to‑Press (RTP) cemented carbide powder. The role involves operating and monitoring equipment that handles raw material weighing, milling, spray drying, and packaging while upholding safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inventory, and store raw materials; fill Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) for production.
• Weigh recipes using a PLC‑controlled automated system and perform manual weigh‑ins as needed.
• Operate, sample, unload, and clean ball mills; produce powder slurry using ethanol as the milling liquid.
• Set up, run, and monitor spray‑drying equipment to produce RTP powder meeting specifications.
• Conduct in‑process quality inspections, collect samples for laboratory testing, and document all production data.
• Perform equipment cleaning (CIP), preventive maintenance, and daily start‑up/shut‑down procedures.
• Package and stage finished powder for shipment according to customer orders.
