Machine Operator (MTE)

About the role

Manchester Tank, part of McWane, is hiring a Machine Operator (MTE) in Campbellsville. The role covers the set-up and operation of the workstation and equipment, monitoring the product's process and quality and making corrections so that quality products flow steadily to customers. Key responsibilities

• Manage the operation of all types of machines and keep them well maintained.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, schedules and product specifications to determine the sequence and methods of fabrication.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines according to specifications, adjusting speed and controlling the load.
• Monitor finished products to ensure they meet specifications and report defects, malfunctions or needs for improvement.
• Operate lifting devices as needed.
• Take part in safety, environmental, process and improvement initiatives.
• Follow EHS guidelines, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS work instructions, and report unsafe conditions promptly; shut down processes that are unsafe and follow proper shutdown procedures.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Required profile

• Dependable and self-motivated, with good communication skills.
• Able to contribute to a positive work environment and pay attention to machinery operations.
• Attends, completes and implements required in-house training.
• Willing to work overtime when production demands and material availability require it.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Basic math: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers.
• Close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
