Machine Operator I – Intraocular Lens Production

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Machine Operator I to support the production of intraocular lenses. The role involves preparing, setting up, operating, and monitoring specialized manufacturing equipment while ensuring product quality and safety in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor equipment such as lathes, PEG machines, cutting machines, microscopes, comparators, and optical benches according to approved procedures.
• Monitor machine performance, product quality, and process conditions; take corrective actions and escalate abnormalities as required.
• Perform equipment checks, process tests, measurements, and parameter adjustments to maintain specification compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspection‑ready work area and carry out routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Accurately complete production orders, equipment logs, and system transactions, recording accepted and rejected quantities.

Required profile

• Technical certification in electronics, electricity, refrigeration, mechanics, or related field, or an associate degree in a technical discipline.
• At least one year of general work experience for certified candidates; manufacturing operator or similar production experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and read technical procedures, specifications, and production orders.
