Machine Operator – Day Shift – $20.35/hr

About the role

Graham Packaging is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for its Lexington, KY facility. This is a day‑shift position (6:48 am‑7:00 pm) focused on operating plastic blow‑molding equipment to produce high‑quality containers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a group of plastic blow‑molding machines and auxiliary equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform mold, insert, and color changes on the production line.
• Monitor HDPE/PET resin, dryer, material‑handling, and color systems to maintain proper processing conditions.
• Conduct on‑time quality checks against established standards.
• Assist with basic processing of injection and blow‑molding machines to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and support mechanical repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and complete required documentation promptly.
• Support other operators or utility positions during slow periods.

Required profile

• Understanding and adherence to safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies.
• Willingness to participate in continuous quality‑improvement projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Production Shift Supervisor.

Required skills

• Operation of plastic blow‑molding machines.
• Basic injection‑molding machine processing.
• Handling of HDPE and PET resin materials.
• Dryer and material‑handling system operation.
• Performing preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
