About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a Machine Learning Research Assistant to support its Economic Research Department. You will work closely with economists on data‑driven projects, applying statistical and econometric methods to inform monetary policy research.
Key responsibilities
- Perform statistical and econometric analyses using state‑of‑the‑art machine‑learning techniques.
- Identify, collect, clean, and prepare data sets required for research projects.
- Develop and maintain code for data analysis and modeling in Python, R, SAS, Stata, and Matlab.
- Assist economists in preparing briefings, newsletters, and research reports.
- Initiate limited independent research projects under supervision.
Required profile
- Strong interest in economics, finance, or related quantitative fields.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, research‑focused environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
