Machine Learning Engineer – Generative AI

About the role

Join a cross‑functional team that applies cutting‑edge generative AI to accelerate materials discovery and scientific innovation. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and product leaders to turn frontier research into high‑impact applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, pre‑train, fine‑tune, and align large language models for scientific and materials‑science data.
• Design post‑training methods and evaluation protocols to ensure robust, accurate, and trustworthy domain‑specific models.
• Create generative approaches that speed up hypothesis generation, materials discovery, and hardware design.
• Build and curate scientific datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation pipelines.
• Publish original research in top AI and materials‑science venues and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong research background with technical leadership experience.
• Passion for learning new technologies and solving complex scientific problems.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands‑on experience with LLM pre‑training, supervised fine‑tuning (SFT), and RLHF alignment.
• Model evaluation and benchmarking for scientific use cases.
• Working with structured and unstructured scientific data (literature, experimental results, simulations).
