M&A Deal Lead

About the role

Modus is seeking an M&A professional to lead the full deal lifecycle, from outreach to integration, supporting its mission to transform the audit industry through strategic investments.

Key responsibilities

• Run the full deal lifecycle from initial outreach through LOI, diligence, closing, and early integration.
• Build and manage a high‑quality pipeline of investment targets, including direct outreach to firm owners, brokers, and advisors.
• Develop investment theses, conduct market mapping, and prioritize targets aligned with Modus’ strategy.
• Lead cross‑functional diligence across financial, operational, legal, regulatory, and technology workstreams.
• Own valuation and underwriting, building financial models, scenario analyses, and return frameworks.
• Partner with operations and finance on post‑close integration planning and early performance tracking.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting.
• Proven track record executing transactions across the full lifecycle with increasing ownership.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills, able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear, concise communicator with high ownership mindset and attention to detail.
• Bonus: experience with professional services M&A.
