Low Voltage Safety Manager

About the role

Applied Business Communications (ABcom), a national low voltage BICSI Certified Prestige commercial structured cabling contractor, is recruiting a Low Voltage Safety Manager in Phoenix. The role formulates, develops and coordinates the safety and loss control functions of the organization, with immediate positions available.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in monthly safety meetings and conduct accident investigations, recommending corrective actions and identifying causes and prevention measures.
• Visit job sites to encourage safe behaviour and give employees feedback on safety and productivity practices.
• Run drug testing processes across the organization: pre-employment, random, reasonable/for cause and post-accident.
• Train employees and customers in company and OSHA safety practices and guide field employees, project supervisors and management on health, public and environmental safety.
• Maintain compliance with government regulators such as OSHA and liaise with fire departments, mutual aid societies and rescue teams for emergency response.
• Develop, recommend and implement new safety policies and strategic objectives, and prepare written materials such as newsletters, toolbox talks, site-specific safety plans, procedures and correspondence.
• Help build programs that reduce accidents, occupational illness and exposure to long-term health hazards, including training, emergency preparedness, inspections, job analysis and protective equipment.
• Interface with customers, contractors and trade associations to promote best safety practices and consistent approaches to health, safety and environmental issues.

Required profile

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to coordinate safety and loss control functions and work with field employees, supervisors and management.
