Long-term Quality Engineering Internship

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a motivated intern to join its Quality Engineering team in Columbus, Mississippi. You will support production and repair station operations, analyse data, and help drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing line.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quality team with problem‑solving, lean manufacturing, six‑sigma and other transformation projects (40%).
• Learn and apply root‑cause analysis techniques, participating in process‑continuous improvement initiatives (40%).
• Update visual management schemes, maintain metrics, and support analytical tools for manufacturing operations (10%).
• Document 5S scores, conduct housekeeping audits, monitor FOD levels and ensure compliance with NAS 412 (10%).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently residing in the Starkville/Columbus, MS area.
• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using G Suite.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of VBA (preferred).
