Logistics Specialist – Fuel Orders & Delivery

About the role

Join Pilot Company's energy and logistics division as a Specialist I, Logistics‑PM. You will manage fuel purchase orders and coordinate deliveries for a network of retail locations, ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply while minimizing total cost.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute delivery of hundreds of fuel loads daily, overseeing millions of dollars in fuel buying decisions.
• Analyze driver staffing, carrier loads, inventory levels, trucking costs and fuel pricing to develop the lowest‑cost action plan and prevent outages.
• Respond to a high volume of driver calls, adjust dispatch plans, and redirect deliveries as needed.
• Monitor store tank volumes, forecast sales demand and maintain optimal inventory to avoid store outages.
• Maintain tank levels at par value to optimize cash flow and capture margin through market‑timing arbitrage.
• Track gasoline and heating‑oil spot market prices and schedule dispatches to capitalize on arbitrage opportunities.
• Review driver DOT hours and design safe, efficient routes.
• Collaborate daily with drivers, supply coordinators, store personnel and other logistics coordinators to meet key performance indicators.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret large data sets and make cost‑effective decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for high‑volume telephone interaction and cross‑functional teamwork.
• Ability to work rotating 3‑day/4‑day schedule (7 PM–7 AM) with extended periods off.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Understanding of fuel logistics, inventory management and dispatch planning.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and driver hour‑of‑service rules.
• Proficiency in analyzing market price trends and arbitrage opportunities.
