Logistics Specialist – Asset & Shipment Coordination

About the role

The Logistics Specialist based in Youngsville, LA will manage and coordinate domestic and international movement of assets, products, and materials for the Business Line. You will act as the logistics focal point, ensuring shipments are cost‑effective, on‑time, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Validate transport requests, delivery dates and plan shipments using approved carriers and 3PLs.
• Prepare equipment load plans and maximize utilization of rental and call‑out equipment.
• Leverage planning tools and contracted rates to achieve competitive costs.
• Design efficient truck routings, consolidate cargo, and capture back‑load opportunities.
• Monitor shipment execution, track movements, manage deviations and keep stakeholders informed.
• Issue work orders with cost approvals and manage weekly fixed schedules and regional milk runs.
• Identify logistics network improvement projects and ensure compliance with international transport regulations.
• Assess carrier performance on on‑time delivery and pickup.
• Maintain electronic documentation, interface with Import/Export teams, and report logistics milestones in the business system.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team player who contributes to process improvements.
• Legal right to work and reside in the United States.
