Logistics Engineer (Level 2)

About the role

The Logistics Engineer (Level 2) supports field operations for Newport News Shipbuilding, ensuring that tools, test equipment, and calibration processes meet Navy contract requirements. You will work directly with customers to demonstrate maintenance procedures and contribute to proposal development for future contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Review field support requirements and recommend appropriate tools and test equipment.
• Establish and document calibration requirements for field systems and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
• Assess technical handbooks for adequacy and assist in developing maintenance engineering and logistics support.
• Contribute to proposal efforts and generate provisioning technical data using ICAPS.

Required profile

• 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a Master’s degree with no experience, or a high‑school diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with Technical Manuals and Hierarchical Structure Codes.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
