Logistics Engineer 2

About the role

The Logistics Engineer 2 supports field operations for Newport News Shipbuilding, ensuring that tools, test equipment, and calibration processes meet Navy requirements. You will work directly with customers to demonstrate maintenance procedures and contribute to proposal development for naval contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Review field support requirements and recommend appropriate tools and test equipment.
• Establish and document calibration requirements for field systems and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
• Review technical handbooks for adequacy and assist in developing maintenance engineering and logistics support.
• Contribute to proposal efforts and generate provisioning technical data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with no required experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Familiarity with technical manuals, hierarchical structure codes, and equipment configuration.

Required skills

• ICAPS (Integrated Computerized Automation Production System) for Navy contracts.
• Interpretation of technical drawings.
• Knowledge of equipment configuration.
• Use of technical manuals and hierarchical structure codes.
