About the role
Compass International Holdings is looking for an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Real Brokerage Litigation Team. The attorney will manage a diverse docket of real estate brokerage matters, protect the company’s interests across multiple brands, and work closely with business partners and outside counsel.
Key responsibilities
- Handle all phases of real estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial or settlement.
- Litigate a personal docket of civil matters and supervise outside counsel on selected cases.
- Prepare and defend company witnesses at depositions and depose adverse parties.
- Draft, argue, and respond to motions, pleadings, and briefs.
- Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
- Represent the company in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials, and regulatory proceedings.
- Advise internal stakeholders on litigation risk, identify emerging issues, and provide proactive solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements and best‑practice initiatives within the organization.
Required profile
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial litigation experience.
- Ability to independently manage civil litigation matters.
- Bar admission in Florida and residence within commuting distance of the Sarasota office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and high integrity.
