Litigation Counsel – Real Estate Brokerage (CA Bar)

About the role

Compass International Holdings is looking for an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Real Brokerage Litigation Team. The attorney will oversee a diverse docket of real‑estate brokerage matters across multiple brands, providing strategic guidance and courtroom representation while collaborating with business partners and outside counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of real‑estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial or settlement.
• Litigate a personal docket of civil matters and supervise outside counsel on selected cases.
• Prepare and defend company witnesses at depositions and conduct depositions of adverse parties.
• Draft, argue, and respond to motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
• Represent the company in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials, and regulatory proceedings.
• Oversee out‑of‑state cases handled by external counsel.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Minimum five years of commercial litigation experience.
• California Bar admission.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage civil litigation matters.
• Experience in real‑estate brokerage litigation preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and a consultative approach to business risk.
