Litigation Associate – Medical Malpractice & Long‑Term Care

About the role

Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience to join its Medical Malpractice/Long‑Term Care team in Valhalla, NY. The attorney will represent physicians, hospitals, and long‑term care facilities in all phases of malpractice litigation across Westchester and surrounding counties.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior litigators to develop defense strategies for medical malpractice actions.
• Draft and review pleadings, discovery requests, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Analyze medical records and conduct legal and medical research.
• Appear in court conferences, depositions, hearings, and client meetings throughout the region.
• Interact with medical experts and maintain client communication throughout cases.

Required profile

• Admission to practice law in New York.
• 3+ years of experience in medical malpractice or related litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to command client confidence.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities.
