Lithography Process Engineer – Quantum Program

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Lithography Process Engineer to join its Quantum Program within the CTO group. The role focuses on developing and optimizing lithography processes for emerging quantum devices, leveraging state‑of‑the‑art materials engineering and semiconductor processing.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize lithography processes on DUV scanners and perform troubleshooting.
• Design mask layouts, apply OPC techniques, and create CDSEM recipes.
• Develop process, module, and device integration solutions for various quantum structures.
• Collaborate with advanced packaging, hardware, and metrology teams to create new lithography processes.
• Work with external vendors and research partners to develop new materials and structures.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and produce technical reports.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and resolve complex process engineering issues.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of hands‑on semiconductor lithography experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Required skills

• Lithography process development and DUV scanner operation.
• Mask layout design, OPC knowledge, and CDSEM recipe creation.
• Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent for layout design.
• Understanding of advanced packaging, metrology, and device integration for quantum devices.
