Line Cook

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and efficient Line Cook to join Veeva’s culinary team. The position involves preparing and cooking menu items for a fast‑paced café serving over 350 guests per service, under the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. The role supports meetings, events and daily operations while maintaining food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food for at least 350 guests per service following recipes and portion guidelines.
• Maintain an organized workstation and ensure timely preparation and plating of dishes.
• Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
• Monitor food quality and presentation, adhering to Veeva standards for taste, temperature, and visual appeal.
• Uphold food safety and sanitation practices, including proper storage, FIFO rotation, and equipment cleaning.
• Support meetings and events, including setup, execution, and breakdown of service.
• Assist with inventory checks, receiving deliveries, and restocking supplies.
• Report equipment issues to leadership for prompt resolution.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a line cook or similar production facility role.
• Current food safety certification (ServSafe, Food Handlers Card).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and stand for up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.

Required skills

• ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification.
• Proficiency with production kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, knives).
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
