Line Cook

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team at The Madison Club. The successful candidate will work in a fast‑paced, full‑service restaurant environment, preparing high‑quality dishes and supporting the Executive Chef in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Stock the kitchen with raw materials and ingredients each day.
• Prepare food items according to standard recipe cards, ensuring portion control and minimizing waste.
• Acquire ingredients for the assigned station and assist with station setup.
• Maintain and clean all kitchen equipment and work areas regularly.
• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues promptly.
• Follow Department of Health food safety standards and company policies.
• Participate in department meetings and attend training as required.
• Plate and present dishes according to specifications and respond quickly to guest needs.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in a full‑service restaurant as a Line Cook or similar role.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining quality.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and shifts longer than eight hours.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lb.
• Strong teamwork orientation and calm demeanor during busy periods.

Required skills

• Possession of a California Food Handlers Card (or obtain within 7 days of hire).
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe practices.
