Lifeguard – Campus Recreation

About the role

Join the Campus Recreation team at Georgetown University as a Lifeguard, responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming aquatic environment at McCarthy Pool for students, faculty, staff and community members.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities and enforce all safety guidelines throughout each shift.
• Perform rescues and administer emergency medical procedures as needed.
• Prepare activity and incident reports and assist with routine pool maintenance.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director for Aquatics, Aquatics Coordinator and Recreation Center Supervisor to ensure compliance with risk management policies.

Required profile

• Current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification, including CPR Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
• Self‑motivated with strong communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Willingness to attend at least two in‑service trainings each year.
