About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Licensing Specialist to manage Emergency Medical Service (EMS) license applications. The role involves processing applications, verifying background checks, and providing customer service to EMS applicants across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Process and issue EMS license applications in accordance with department guidelines.
- Review criminal background reports, verify immigration status, and ensure compliance with GBI/FBI checks.
- Maintain records, respond to open record requests, and generate required reports.
- Assist with regulatory compliance, policy updates, and communication platform monitoring.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (3 years related work or 7 years overall).
- Experience with healthcare licensing, EMS systems, or related regulatory environments.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and handle confidential information.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of licensing software and computer applications for licensing.
