Licensed Practical Nurse - Outpatient Behavioral Health

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Pathways Center is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Outpatient Behavioral Health team in Carrollton, Georgia. This full‑time, day‑shift position provides nursing support to individuals receiving outpatient mental health and substance‑use treatment across multiple clinic locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care and support for outpatient behavioral health clients.
• Perform nursing assessments, collect vital signs, and document findings in the electronic health record.
• Assist psychiatric providers during patient visits and clinical procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, including long‑acting injectables, and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
• Provide medication education, reconciliation, and coordinate prescription refills.
• Arrange laboratory, drug‑screen, and TB testing, as well as prior authorizations.
• Maintain examination rooms, medication supplies, vaccines, and medical equipment.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, peer specialists, and other team members to ensure integrated care.
• Respond to urgent behavioral health concerns following agency protocols.

Required profile

• Current LPN licensure in Georgia.
• Experience in outpatient mental health or substance‑use settings preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of medication administration, including injectable therapies.
• Ability to perform vital sign collection and basic clinical assessments.
