About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Licensed Certified Social Worker to join its Internal Medicine Clinics. This full‑time, day‑shift position supports patients and families by providing comprehensive social work services within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for patients in internal medicine settings.
• Develop and implement care plans addressing medical, emotional, and social needs.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources, support groups, and financial assistance programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
• Document interventions and outcomes in the electronic health record in compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW or equivalent) in Arkansas.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably with internal medicine patients.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, insurance processes, and community resources.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
