Legal Internship – Spring 2027

About the role

The ACLU of Oklahoma is seeking two law students for a Spring 2027 Legal Internship. Interns will support civil‑rights litigation, conduct research, and gain hands‑on experience with the organization’s advocacy work. The position can be full‑ or part‑time with a minimum of 10 hours per week, up to 20 hours, and is remote‑optional.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal and factual research and produce memoranda.
• Draft and submit open‑records requests; review and summarize public records.
• Prepare demand letters, motions, and other court filings.
• Attend staff and litigation team meetings.
• Participate in court hearings and public meetings.
• Assist with additional litigation tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Understanding of the U.S. Constitution and civil‑rights issues.
• Commitment to the ACLU’s mission and civil‑rights advocacy.
• Excellent organization and legal writing abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SharePoint.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Westlaw for legal research.
