Legal Internship – Fall 2026

About the role

The ACLU of Oklahoma is seeking two legal interns for the Fall 2026 term. Interns will support civil‑rights litigation, conduct legal research, and gain hands‑on experience with the organization’s work across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal and factual research and produce memoranda.
• Draft and submit open‑records requests and review public records.
• Prepare demand letters, motions, and other court filings.
• Participate in staff and litigation team meetings.
• Attend court hearings and public meetings as needed.
• Assist with additional litigation tasks as required.

Required profile

• Law student who has completed the first year (1L).
• Strong understanding of the U.S. Constitution and civil‑rights issues.
• Commitment to the ACLU’s mission and civil‑rights advocacy.
• Excellent organization and legal writing abilities.
• Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week (up to 20 hours).
