Legal Compliance Analyst

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Legal Compliance Analyst to support its Open Banking business across the Americas. The role involves interpreting new regulations, performing risk assessments, and defining controls to ensure compliant operations in a rapidly evolving financial ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Perform KYC and customer due diligence, including CIP, CDD, and EDD reviews, and document risk ratings.
• Execute periodic KYC refreshes, manage backlog and meet service level agreements.
• Process consumer compliance queues, handling identity verification, privacy requests, and disputes.
• Identify automation opportunities using AI to streamline manual processes.
• Track and report KPIs and KRIs such as volumes, aging, and backlog for senior management.
• Review sales pipeline bi‑weekly to flag high‑risk customers before onboarding.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects supporting business and compliance objectives.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance operations, KYC, or customer due diligence within banking or payments.
• Ability to manage end‑to‑end case queues while meeting SLA targets.
• Strong knowledge of KYC and AML requirements, including CIP, CDD, and EDD.
• Excellent organization, time‑management and attention to detail.
• Experience producing accurate case files and reporting on volumes and backlog.

Required skills

• Case management or CRM platforms (e.g., Fenergo, Salesforce).
• Automation or AI tools for operational efficiency.
• Understanding of Open Banking or Open Finance products.
• Compliance certifications such as CAMS or ICA (optional).

• Competitive base salary $69,000‑$110,000 USD per year.
