Legal Assistant – Litigation Support (New York)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Legal Assistant to join the Litigation Support team at our New York office. The role supports high‑stakes commercial litigation matters, ensuring that all documents and filings are prepared accurately and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, edit, and format complex legal documents, including pleadings, tables of authorities, and tables of contents.
• Manage binders, case files, and trial exhibits from inception through court submission.
• Conduct cite checking using Bluebook rules and verify citations via Westlaw.
• Coordinate logistics for interviews, depositions, hearings, and trials, such as court reporters, interpreters, and conference rooms.
• Organize and transport case materials for trial, ensuring proper setup at the courtroom.
• Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, and consistency.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in commercial litigation.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven project‑management capability to juggle multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Expert‑level typing speed and accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Word, for complex formatting.
• Experience using Westlaw for legal research and citation verification.
• Solid knowledge of Bluebook citation standards.
• Familiarity with document management systems such as NetDocs.
• Exposure to e‑discovery tools (training provided).
