Lead Truck and Equipment Mechanic

About the role

A-Core Concrete Specialists is seeking an experienced Lead Truck and Equipment Mechanic to join its fast‑paced Mesa, AZ shop. You will work on a variety of concrete‑cutting engines and equipment, handling everything from routine preventive maintenance to complex technical repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Address day‑to‑day breakdowns and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all small engines and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including power units, generators, and vehicle issues.
• Travel to field sites as needed, including occasional nights and weekends.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and complete work orders accurately and on time.
• Research, order parts, and manage inventory to ensure timely repairs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing small engines and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of small‑engine mechanics, electrical systems, and fuel systems.
• Own tools, valid driver’s license with a good record, and ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
• Ability to lift 75 lb or more and maintain data entry on a PC/tablet.
• Willingness to obtain special clearance for sensitive sites (military bases, airports).
• Commercial driver’s license preferred; bilingual Spanish a plus.
