Lead Software Engineer (Azure Platform Engineering)

About the role

Mastercard’s Cloud Platform team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to drive Azure Platform Engineering. You will help build automated, reliable cloud infrastructure that powers our global payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions for Mastercard’s Azure environment.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Azure services—from development and deployment to operation and continuous improvement.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and reliability enhancements.
• Design and develop scalable platform solutions for internal engineering teams.
• Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless post‑mortems.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large‑scale systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
• Effective communication and a collaborative mindset.
