Lead Software Engineer – AI & Agentic Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to drive the development of AI‑enabled, agentic solutions that solve real enterprise challenges. You will work within Trane Technologies’ sustainability‑focused businesses, turning cutting‑edge AI research into production‑grade software that improves employee and customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and support AI‑driven applications for enterprise use cases.
• Integrate models, agents, tools, workflows, APIs and cloud services into reliable, scalable solutions.
• Apply emerging AI patterns such as agents, tool‑calling, MCP, A2A, and context engineering to create practical value.
• Move AI prototypes into production‑ready services while ensuring security, maintainability and operational support.
• Establish reusable components, agent capabilities and engineering patterns to accelerate future AI delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor team members and guide design decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams delivering complex, cloud‑based systems.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and experience turning research prototypes into production code.
• Ability to evaluate risks, define quality standards and scale AI practices across an enterprise.
