Lead Service Technician – Student Living

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Lead Service Technician to oversee technical and mechanical maintenance for its Union Tempe student‑living community. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Track and retrieve materials, supplies, tools, and equipment from the maintenance department, monitor inventory usage, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and amenity upkeep by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance, preferably in a residential or student‑living environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and documentation accuracy.
