Lead Operator – Wastewater

About the role

The City of Pearland is looking for a full‑time Lead Operator to oversee daily operations of its Wastewater Utilities division. This position guides a crew in the inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment and pumping systems while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a crew performing semi‑skilled and skilled wastewater tasks.
• Operate and monitor the SCADA system for real‑time control of pumps, valves, and treatment processes.
• Perform or supervise repairs on lift pumps, blowers, reservoirs, automated valves, and related equipment.
• Ensure proper disinfectant and sterilization distribution to meet water quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Licensed TCEQ Water Operator (Grade C, B, or A).
• Experience in municipal wastewater operations or a similar utility environment.
• Strong service orientation and ability to work in a fast‑paced setting.
