Lead MRI Technologist (Full-Time)

About the role

The Lead MRI Technologist will supervise the MRI department staff, coordinate daily schedules, and ensure high‑quality imaging services. This role also serves as the clinical coordinator for MRI students while performing advanced MRI procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise MRI staff, develop daily schedules, and maintain accurate records.
• Provide guidance and suggestions to improve efficiency and quality of imaging work.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) tasks for the MRI suite.
• Position patients, select appropriate shielding and immobilization devices, and administer contrast media when indicated.
• Conduct advanced MRI angiography, including bilateral run‑offs and data reformatting.
• Monitor patient and equipment during scans, document exam times, and report any issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with magnetic resonance safety standards and regulatory policies.
• Serve as Clinical Coordinator for MRI students, overseeing their training and performance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ACR‑ or JRCERT‑approved radiologic technology program.
• On‑the‑job training with supplemental didactic education.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ARRT MRI certification required within one year of hire.
• Current state registration and licensure for radiologic technologists.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of MRI equipment.
• Advanced MRI angiography techniques.
• Use of injectors, respiratory‑gating software, and patient vital‑monitoring systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging protocols.
• Execution of QA/QC procedures for MRI.
• Magnetic resonance safety compliance.
