Lead Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to own and drive the manufacturing processes for the A450 BUS platform. You will provide technical leadership, ensure repeatable quality, cost, and schedule performance, and mentor the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner of all manufacturing processes supporting the A450 program.
• Lead strategy, development, and improvement of processes to align mechanical flight hardware with design specifications and production capacity.
• Own validation of new processes and manage their smooth introduction to production.
• Prioritize and task manufacturing engineers, monitor process performance, and capture key data.
• Propose data‑driven solutions and ROI‑focused improvements.
• Drive design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) initiatives across product lifecycles.
• Lead non‑conformance troubleshooting, root‑cause corrective action (RCCA), and ensure lessons learned are applied.
• Act as liaison between engineering and production, conduct manufacturing readiness assessments, and champion continuous‑improvement culture.
