Lead Environment & Platform Operations Engineer

About the role

The Lead Environment & Platform Operations Engineer partners with business and technical teams to ensure development, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing environments are available, secure, and ready for stakeholder use. The role drives automation, AI‑assisted analysis, and cost‑optimization across cloud services and supplier platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑team activities to keep DEV, SIT, and CAT environments stable and release‑ready.
• Manage environment changes, including configuration updates, refreshes, access provisioning, and deployments following governance processes.
• Create, track, and close ServiceNow requests and incidents; open and monitor vendor support cases (e.g., Google, Oracle).
• Lead patching, vulnerability remediation, and system upgrades, coordinating schedules, testing, and risk escalation.
• Own critical incident management for high‑severity outages, handling triage, communication, restoration, and post‑incident reviews.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, system/network specifications, and NCRB documentation.
• Ensure effective monitoring and alerting via Splunk dashboards and coordinate with ESM.
• Identify automation and AI‑driven improvements and recommend cloud cost‑optimization strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating complex technical environments in a large‑scale organization.
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and security processes.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and drive timely issue resolution.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret monitoring data and drive reliability improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL querying (complex joins, performance tuning) on Oracle, Clouderer, DataStax or similar platforms.
• Hands‑on Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting.
• GitHub and Copilot usage for DevSecOps automation.
• ServiceNow incident and request management.
• Splunk dashboard creation and alert configuration.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud.
