Lead, Enterprise Operations - Messaging

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead for Enterprise Operations – Messaging to own and evolve its global email ecosystem. This senior position will drive the modernization, security, and reliability of the messaging platform across Microsoft Exchange Online, Proofpoint, and Microsoft Purview.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the enterprise messaging platform, including Exchange Online and hybrid environments.
• Configure routing, tenant optimization, and scalability for worldwide email services.
• Lead email security initiatives using Proofpoint and Microsoft security tools (spam filtering, phishing protection, threat detection).
• Define and enforce messaging security policies such as quarantine, digest, and filtering strategies.
• Partner with Security to implement compliance capabilities via Microsoft Purview (legal hold, retention, data protection).
• Manage incident response, troubleshoot delivery issues, and ensure high availability of the messaging ecosystem.
• Act as primary technical liaison with Microsoft and Proofpoint, influencing roadmap and feature adoption.
• Develop automation, runbooks, and operational standards to reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, especially hybrid and enterprise‑scale deployments.
• Strong background in email security platforms such as Proofpoint or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft Purview compliance, retention, and eDiscovery features.
• Deep understanding of email protocols and standards (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Proven ability to lead incident response and drive platform reliability.
