Lead DATEP Surveyor – Atlanta

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Lead DATEP Surveyor to oversee compliance surveys for Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Programs (DATEP) across the state. Reporting to the DATEP/NTP Licensure Manager, you will guide a team of surveyors, travel extensively, and ensure facilities meet all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and conduct compliance surveys of DATEP facilities statewide.
• Evaluate facility adherence to rules, develop findings of deficiency, and determine license eligibility.
• Prepare detailed, professional reports that incorporate data analysis and regulatory interpretation.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate a team of surveyors, supporting their professional development.
• Act as subject‑matter expert, providing technical assistance to facilities and internal staff.
• Maintain accurate records and enter information into state databases in compliance with federal and state law.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Georgia’s DATEP rules and regulations.
• Ability to travel 60‑75% of the time across the state.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with providers and stakeholders.
• Critical thinking to assess risks and ensure compliance.
