Lead Data Scientist

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive its data science agenda. You will spearhead projects, guide a team of data scientists and engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to deliver data‑driven insights that support the Bank’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and engineers, defining the data science strategy aligned with departmental goals.
• Oversee multiple data science projects from inception to delivery, ensuring high‑quality, timely results.
• Design and develop modular, efficient, and maintainable software components for research and analytics.
• Build advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data processing pipelines to answer complex research questions.
• Collaborate with economists and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and integrate emerging technologies into the data science practice.
• Manage data collection, storage, and processing to maintain data quality and integrity.
