Lead Cleaner

About the role

ABM is seeking a reliable Lead Cleaner to supervise daily cleaning operations and ensure facilities remain safe and spotless. The Lead acts as the on‑site manager when the Facility Manager is absent, coordinating staff, handling equipment, and maintaining standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow assigned work schedules and route cards, reporting any barriers.
• Provide leadership, open communication, and direction to field employees.
• Oversee and perform cleaning tasks in the assigned building, including key and access‑card management.
• Report damaged or broken items and handle additional service requests.
• Monitor job quality, confirm completion with the Area Manager, and train new hires.
• Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees.
• Check supplies, equipment, and cleaning chemicals on a weekly basis.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or college degree not required.
• Preferred: 1 year of similar cleaning work, 1 year of customer‑service experience, and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Operation of specialized cleaning equipment.
• Handling of cleaning chemicals safely.
