Law Enforcement Instructor

About the role

The Criminal Justice Institute seeks a Law Enforcement Instructor to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of Arkansas law‑enforcement professionals. This fixed‑term, work‑study role involves delivering classroom‑based training and practical, hands‑on instruction across a range of criminal‑justice topics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a progressive curriculum covering leadership, management, crime scene investigation, computer applications, traffic safety, illicit‑drug investigations, and school safety.
• Design and implement effective learning strategies and classroom environments that accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Deliver high‑quality instruction and present lesson plans on scheduled class days in an engaging manner.
• Provide multiple content delivery formats such as slides, lectures, and videos to support varied learner preferences.

Required profile

• Current or former law‑enforcement professional with experience in policing or sheriff’s office duties.
• Strong knowledge of criminal‑justice practices and contemporary challenges in Arkansas law enforcement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop curriculum and assess student learning outcomes.
