Lathe Machinist III – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Lathe Machinist III for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will operate advanced CNC lathe machines with milling capabilities to produce high‑precision aerospace and industrial components.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute work within the cell with minimal supervision.
• Set up, run, and fine‑tune CNC lathe‑mill machines to meet tight tolerances and complex geometry.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gaging equipment, and identify non‑conforming items.
• Interpret detailed GD&T drawings, sketches, and operation sheets.
• Contribute to problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and computer instructions in English.
• At least 4 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Proficiency with G‑Code programming.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls; experience with STAR Swiss‑type automatic lathes is a plus.
• Familiarity with B‑axis mill‑turn operations on main and sub‑spindles is a plus.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
