Lathe Machinist III – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist III for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will produce high‑precision aerospace and defense components that directly support space, launch vehicle, and missile programs.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathe machines with milling capabilities to produce complex geometry within tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gauging equipment, and identify any deviations from blueprints or operation sheets.
• Interpret and work from detailed GD&T drawings, sketches, and technical documentation.
• Plan work within the cell, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous‑improvement efforts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Proven ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Required skills

• CNC lathe operation with milling functions.
• Knowledge of G‑Code programming.
• Familiarity with Fanuc control systems (a plus).
• Interpretation of GD&T specifications.
