Lathe Machinist III – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist III for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will produce high‑precision aerospace and defense components using advanced CNC lathe equipment with milling capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes with mill functions to meet tight tolerances and complex geometry.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any deviations from specifications.
• Interpret detailed GD&T drawings, blueprints, and operation sheets.
• Work with minimal supervision, plan work within the cell, and troubleshoot technical issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 4 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Demonstrated proficiency with basic math operations.
• Experience with G‑Code programming; familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus.
• Knowledge of B‑axis mill turns on main and sub‑spindles is advantageous.
