Lathe Machinist II – 3rd Shift (Onsite, Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist II to join the 3rd shift team at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will work on high‑tolerance aerospace components that support advanced military aircraft programs, contributing directly to national defense and aerospace innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes with milling capabilities to produce complex, high‑precision parts.
• Inspect finished components, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any deviations from blueprints.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and ensure compliance with FAA safety‑sensitive work regulations.
• Maintain accurate production records and adhere to company quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum three years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Eligibility and willingness to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.

Required skills

• CNC lathe operation
• Milling capabilities on lathe machines
• Working knowledge of G‑Code
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls (preferred)
