Lathe Machinist II – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist II for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves producing high‑precision aerospace and defense components on CNC lathes with milling capabilities, contributing directly to mission‑critical programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute work with minimal supervision, solving problems within the cell.
• Set up and run parts on CNC lathes equipped with milling functions to achieve tight tolerances and complex geometry.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any deviations or errors.
• Interpret complex drawings, GD&T specifications, and operation sheets.
• Detect unusual conditions and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Familiarity with G‑Code (preferred) and Fanuc controls (a plus).
