Lathe Machinist II – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist II for the 2nd shift in its Military Aircraft Group. The role involves operating CNC and manual lathes with milling capabilities to produce high‑precision aerospace and defense components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, run, and monitor CNC lathe machines to meet tight tolerances and complex geometry.
• Perform manual lathe operations when required.
• Inspect finished parts, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any non‑conforming items.
• Interpret detailed GD&T blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets.
• Maintain compliance with FAA safety‑sensitive work regulations and company drug & alcohol program.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and strong English comprehension.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a CNC lathe machinist.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and follow written and computer work instructions.
• Eligibility for FAA safety‑sensitive work enrollment.

Required skills
